Blog page numbers (article lists)

On article lists it’s crazy you can’t have page numbers for blogs. I want to have pages of blogs instead of having 100s of blogs in one slow loading list. It can be done on collections but why not blog. For the new website design I am doing this is a HUGE issue. Can we add article list numbers
