Gallery Element

Max Desgarnier and some members would like to have a basic Gallery element for GemPages.

As a GemPages user, I want to easily create and manage a gallery on my webpage by using a drag & drop feature,

So that I can quickly organize and display images in a visually appealing manner without the need for coding.

Acceptance Criteria:

  1. Gallery Element Addition: Users can find a 'Gallery' element in the elements list within the GemPages dashboard. This element can be dragged and placed on any part of their webpage.

  2. Easy Image Upload: Once the Gallery element is placed, users can click on it to upload images or drag images directly from their computer into the gallery area.

  3. Drag & Drop to Organize: Users can drag and reorder images within the gallery element to organize them as desired. This includes the ability to adjust the sequence of images or change which images are featured more prominently.

  4. Customizable Gallery Settings: Users have the option to customize the layout of the gallery (e.g., grid, masonry, slider), set the margin between images, and adjust the size of the images within the gallery element.

  5. Preview and Edit: Users can preview how the gallery looks in real-time as they add or rearrange images. They should also be able to edit the gallery at any point, including adding or removing images, without having to start from scratch.

  6. Responsive Design: The gallery element automatically adjusts to different screen sizes and resolutions, ensuring a visually consistent experience across all devices.

  7. Performance Optimized: Images added to the gallery are automatically optimized for web use to ensure they load quickly without compromising on quality.

Notes:

  • The feature should be intuitive for users without any technical background.

  • Support for multiple image formats (JPEG, PNG, GIF) is required.

  • Ensure that the gallery element is compatible with all major browsers and devices.
